Door/Kewaunee Legislative Days Registration Deadline

This Friday, March 4 is the final deadline for delegates to register for the ninth biennial Door/Kewaunee Legislative Days event. The purpose of Legislative Days is to educate state officials about Door and Kewaunee Counties, and to lobby for state action to help address local issues and concerns. Legislative Days 2019 will take place in Madison on Wednesday and Thursday, April 3-4.

Past topics include:

  • State Assistance for Preventing Groundwater Contamination
  • Request State Support for Reconstruction of the Kewaunee Harbor Sea Wall
  • Supporting the “Creative Economy Development Initiative”- Involving the Arts in Economic Development
  • Winery Regulatory Reform
  • Funding for Public Schools

The main events are scheduled for Wednesday, April 3, when delegates will call on state legislators in the afternoon and enjoy a reception with legislators and guests that evening. The remainder of the two-day event will be reserved for visiting state officials and select state agencies. Door/Kewaunee Legislative Days 2019 will again be headquartered at the Premier Park hotel on Capitol Square in downtown Madison.

Wednesday, April 3

Morning –      Travel to Madison

Delegate meetings with selected state agencies

Noon –           Lunch meeting hosted by (coming soon)

Afternoon –    County delegate meetings with all state legislators

Evening –       Reception and entertainment at Premier Park Hotel

Thursday, April 4

Morning –      Breakfast meeting with (coming soon) & legislative leadership

Additional delegate meetings with state agencies

Midday –       Return to Door and Kewaunee Counties
