Door/Kewaunee Legislative Days Registration Deadline

This Friday, March 13 is the final deadline for delegates to register for the seventh biennial Door/Kewaunee Legislative Days event. The purpose of Legislative Days is to educate state officials about Door and Kewaunee Counties, and to lobby for state action to help address local issues and concerns. Legislative Days 2015 will take place in Madison on Wednesday and Thursday, April 15-16.

Some of the major Door/Kewaunee Legislative Days 2015 agenda topics will be:

  • State Assistance for Preventing Groundwater Contamination
  • Request State Support for Reconstruction of the Kewaunee Harbor Sea Wall
  • Supporting the “Creative Economy Development Initiative”- Involving the Arts in Economic Development
  • Winery Regulatory Reform
  • Funding for Public Schools

The main events are scheduled for Wednesday, April 15, when delegates will call on state legislators in the afternoon and enjoy a reception with legislators and guests that evening, featuring a showcase of  Door and Kewaunee County foods and entertainment from Rogue Theater. The remainder of the two-day event will be reserved for visiting state officials and select state agencies. Door/Kewaunee Legislative Days 2015 will again be headquartered at the Inn on The Park hotel on Capitol Square in downtown Madison.

Wednesday, April 15

Morning –      Travel to Madison

Delegate meetings with selected state agencies

Noon –           Lunch meeting hosted by Sen. Lasee and Rep. Kitchens

Afternoon –    County delegate meetings with all state legislators

Evening –       Reception and entertainment at Inn on The Park

Thursday, April 16Morning –      Breakfast meeting with Gov. Walker (invited) & legislative leadership

Additional delegate meetings with state agencies

Midday –       Return to Door and Kewaunee Counties
